About the Best Workplaces for Commuters Program

SACOG teamed up with the Environmental Protection Agency and a local coalition of business, transportation, human resource and environmental organizations to develop the 2006 Best Workplaces for Commuters^SM(4.5MB) for the Sacramento Region.

The Best Workplaces for Commuters^SM is a free and voluntary program, recognizing employers offering significant commuter benefits to employees. Employers who make the list offer employees key commuting benefits such as employer provided transit passes, vanpool subsidies, bike commuter facilities, onsite day care, and telework programs.

Through inclusion on the 2006 Sacramento Region Best Workplaces for Commuters^SM list, your organization will enjoy:

• Public Recognition for being commuter-friendly and socially responsible.
• Training to help implement commuter benefits
• Web-based tools to help you calculate the overall financial, environmental and traffic improvements associated with your commuter benefits.
• One-on-one assistance to answer program questions, provide tips and resources, and help recognize your achievements.
• Networking opportunities with peers and experts in the field to exchange ideas and learn new strategies.
