New Commute Challenge Coming to Sacramento

The Ready Set Ride Commute Challenge encourages you to drive alone less in October by walking, biking, using transit, riding in a carpool or vanpool, or teleworking. A new website will be launched where you will make a pledge and log trips October 22-28 for a chance to win prizes, earn virtual badges, and challenge your friends and co-workers.

Westbound I-80 from Longview Drive to Winters Street. Entrance to the local lane is closed. Only the “Express Lanes” will be open, which means there will be no local access to Winters Street, Raley Boulevard, Norwood Avenue and Northgate Boulevard until Truxel Road. New 511 App Released

The new Sacramento 511 app has been released on the iTunes and Google Play stores.

Sacramento 511 is the Sacramento Area Council of Government’s (SACOG) official traffic and traveler information resource. The Sacramento 511 app provides regional, real-time traffic information for interstates, U.S. routes, and state highways in the Sacramento metro area, including:

– Zoomable map with selectable event icons
– California Highway Patrol incidents
– Roadwork and construction events
– Current traffic speeds
– Roadside camera images
